New project for a dozen rental units in a housing cooperative in Burtigny

What is a housing cooperative?

A housing cooperative is a non-profit organization that builds or manages housing for its members. Residents are shareholders: they buy shares but remain tenants (they do not own their housing). 

Rents are calculated on the basis of real costs, so they are often lower than on the market. Members participate in the decision-making and management of the cooperative (meetings, votes).

The goal is to guarantee quality, stable and affordable housing with a community and solidarity-based spirit.

The project in a few words:

This housing cooperative project is located in the village of Burtigny, near the main street, and has an unobstructed view of the fields and the Lake Geneva landscape.

It involves the construction of a dozen units, spread over two levels + attic.

Future residents will have the opportunity to participate in the design of their housing from the very beginning, in order to adapt it to their needs while preserving the architectural harmony of the whole. Common spaces will complete the project, promoting a balance between private and collective life. Cooperative members will thus be invited to embark on a real shared adventure and contribute to the creation of a sustainable, unique living space in harmony with the village's identity.

A partnership with the municipality provides for the development of a nearby parking lot and connection to a remote heating system, powered by an ecological energy source. The architecture will favor the use of local, sustainable materials with a low environmental impact, in line with the region's forestry and agricultural resources.

Cooperative share:

The amount will be defined according to the size of the dwelling.

Projected monthly rents and types of dwelling (excluding water and heating charges) :

-2-room apartments (approx. 55 m2) 
 from CHF 1,146.- + charges per month.

-3-room apartments (approx. 76 m2)
 from CHF 1,750.- + charges per month.

-4-room apartments (approx. 120 m2)
 from CHF 2,604.- + charges per month.

-5-room apartments (approx. 135 m2) 
 from CHF 2,854.- + charges per month.
